Floral Medallion

I do so much like this floral embroidery design as it reminded me of the medallions in Persian carpets. Many thanks to Mary Corbet for the pattern.

Masha-Allah this didn't take long at all to sew; The embroidery took a few hours but I really enjoyed it as I hadn't done it in a very long time. The central panel is worked in calico, about 8" square. Then strips of 3" wide fabric were sewn on using stitch and flip, and the completed cushion cover is about 16" square. I like the way one can use a small piece of embroidery and make it into something more substantial with patchwork.

AlHamdulillah.
